Philippians 1:6(NIV)
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry
it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
The first time the word “iniquity” is used in conjunction with generational curses
is in:

Exodus 20:5(NAS)
5 “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God,
am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third
and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Lamentations 5:7(NAS)
7 Our fathers sinned, {and} are no more; it is we who have borne their
iniquities.
Iniquity, or family curses can come in many forms: drug abuse, poverty, eating
disorders, suicide, deep depression, children being born out of wedlock,
Destructive personality traits or behavioral patterns, addictions, divorce,
sickness, anger, there is no limit, all these can be traced back through a person’s
family history.
