To Return To The Heart Of God
A Day of Atonement – (Yom Kippor)
“Yom” is “Day” in Hebrew, and “Kippur” from the root word “kippa” is “covering” for our sins.
Zechariah 12:10-WEB
I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom
they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only
son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a
firstborn.
Lev 16:15-16-AMP
15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering that is for [the sins of] the
people and bring its blood within the veil [into the Holy of Holies] and do
with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the
mercy seat and before the mercy seat. [Heb 2:17]
16 Thus he shall make atonement for the Holy Place because of the
uncleanness of the Israelites and because of their transgressions, even all
their sins; and so shall he do for the Tent of Meeting, that remains among
them in the midst of their uncleanness. [Heb 9:22-24]
